Frequently Asked Questions

Do multiple bingos mean multiple entries?

Yes. Each bingo (vertical, horizontal or diagonal) is one entry, so you can submit several on one card. A blackout (entire card full) on a regional card is five entries. A blackout on the statewide card is 25 entries.

Can I count birds I saw before I got my Bird Bingo card?

No. You may only X a bird if you see it between April and November 30 of 2024. We planned the game to run through both spring and fall migrations to increase your chances of seeing as many birds as possible.

What if I see a bird that’s on a regional card, but I am not currently in that region?

Lucky you! Feel free to count that bird on the regional card.

How many people will win?

Once submissions close in November, we will draw 31 winners at random. Thirty people will win birding excursions with a Texas Audubon master birder, and one lucky person will have a chance to tour a bird sanctuary island off the Texas Gulf Coast!

Do I have to be honest about what birds I see?

Like all of birding, Bird Bingo operates on the honor system. We will not double check your work, but we expect you to be real with us!
